Our aim is to take direct action to rescue animals in need
We Rescue Animals is on a mission to save innocent souls. It is a hub to connect vital campaigns for animals that are based on direct and effective action. This is where real life change is taking place, an inclusive, action led community, all passionate to make the world a better place for animals.
THE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW!!!!!!!
We will carry out the following direct actions:
Rescue animals that are in danger
Build a global community of individuals and organisations that can swing into action instantly
Establish global hubs in key countries where animal trafficking is rife
Operate inclusively with an opportunity for everyone to get involved
ANIMALS CANNOT SPEAK SO WE WILL SPEAK FOR THEM
We need people who care enough to act, not just be bystanders, collaboration and community is a powerful and undeniable force when it comes to change. We ask you stand with us in determined solidarity. We have already had many success stories between us such as real action for Scottish wildcats vulnerable due to the logging industries, for animals trapped in the pet trade and many rescue stories from little sad fish dying in a pet shop, to Rhino in Africa getting their protection and freedom returned to them.
BAN THE KEEPING OF CAGE BIRDS
Project Goal: To stop the keeping of pet birds.
Imagine having the gift of flight and then being deprived of it. We will change the law to end bird trafficking, breeding, and trading.
What Was Their Crime?
Every year hundreds of thousands of majestic birds are imprisoned as pets. They are traumatised, abused physically and mentally, reducing their rich lives to a bleak existence.
Keeping birds as pets is cruel and abusive – an animal that has evolved to fly should not be imprisoned indoors.
This is why we are leading a campaign to change the law and stop this.
Lockdown For Life
We all experienced the feeling of captivity during Covid 19 lockdowns; the isolation, the physical toll of restricted movement. But at least we knew why we were contained, and we understood it would end.
For some larger birds captivity means over 60 years of imprisonment in solitary confinement, yet they have no concept of why they are caged and they will never get released.
LEGAL TRADE ALLOWS THE ILLEGAL TRADE TO FLOURISH
The truth sometimes hurts but the reality is that anyone who has bought a bird or indeed any exotic animal as a pet has made the illegal trade in those animals easier. Millions of birds are brutally taken from the wild and laundered into the pet trade. Taken as chicks form their nest, trapped in glue traps, stuffed into plastic bottles and trafficked all around the world, just so that someone can have a bird in their front room. It is truly sickening and it needs to stop now. We are working with politicians to change the allow to make this illegal and we are working with NGO’s around the world who combat the illegal trade. With people power it can and will be stopped.
How We Will Achieve Change
Raising Awareness
We are committed to uniting as many voices as possible to raise awareness at every level, and effect change of the law in the UK (then beyond!).
Leading Education
We are sharing hard truths and brutal facts around the ownership of exotic birds. Animal lovers need to confront the harrowing reality of the bird trade.
Changing Legislation
We are doers. We are directly connected to MP’s, high-net-worth individuals and likeminded change-makers. Our mission is clear: ban birds as pets in the UK.
Further Projects
We will deliver innovative and impactful projects that other organisations are not brave enough to do. We will smash through bureaucracy, corruption and in action. Of course we want everyone on board, but if you try to please everyone then you will end up pleasing no one. Therefore, we will not be afraid to challenge or push boundaries if required. We are here to get the job done. We are prepared to be judged by our results, and we will regularly update you on progress as it occurs.
Stop the torture of baby elephants
Project Aim: To stop the torture of baby elephants by resolving a chronic human : elephant conflict in Zambia.
Female elephants killed, baby elephants captured, bound tortured and then left to be eaten alive by hyaenas. It sounds so horrific that it cannot be real. Sadly it is very very real and we have undercover operatives who have the evidence to prove it…………….
ZOO WATCH
Project Aim: To highlight and then stop chronic zoo suffering.
Zoos exist for entertainment, NOT conservation. They employ specialist marketing teams to convince you that your admission fee and over priced ice cream, is actually helping the animals you are gawping at. It isn’t. Zoos exist to exist and many are run purely as businesses.
